MEGWARE installs new Cluster at DLR Jena
The Institute of Data Science is beeing supported with new compute power. MEGWARE delivers and installs the new High Performance Data Analysis (HPDA) Cluster with a total of 118 MEGWARE compute nodes and 4 GPU nodes each equipped with 8 GPUs NVIDIA Tesla V100 SXM2. These systems are based on latest 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable CPU technology (Intel® Xeon® 8260) and are intended to support scientific research at DLR with a focus on Machine Learning, Visual Analytics and Climate Informatics. The cluster impresses with 5856 cores, 49.0 TB DDR4 memory and a theoretical compute power of 699.34 TFlops RPEAK. The data between the compute nodes will be transferred via Intel Omni-Path network with 100 gigabits per second. With a total of 4 server racks, the cluster itself serves as a research object for the development of scalable basic software in the field of Scientific Computing and Machine Learning. Management and monitoring are carried out by ClustWare®, a software tool developed by MEGWARE.
